Community of writing people

Kathleen Adams:

Community also changes us. We learn that we are not alone. We see ourselves reflected in another’s compassionate eyes. We hold for each other what we cannot reliably hang onto for ourselves.

Expressive writing may change the way you see the world. Writing communities have the power to deepen and accelerate the process of change.

Connecting with parts of ourselves

Kathleen Adams:

Writing connects us to the parts of ourselves that have been lost, abandoned, neglected, forgotten, or ignored. We learn that there are wise, friendly, and reasonable aspects of ourselves that want us to succeed. These “best selves” are willing to share their wisdom with us. Writing is the bridge.
